Not to belabor this thread, but I used to get a real kick watching a
Pileated Woodpecker eat huckleberries when I lived in Gig Harbor. The bird
would hitch itself up to a tree trunk adjacent to a bush and then using
that long Pileated neck reach back over its shoulder and pick berries off
the bush. Probably only a Pileated could do it.
