Subject: OFF TOPIC: Millipedes

While at Ocean Shores on Saturday there were literally tens of thousands of
millipedes on the beach. Walking along several miles of beach there would be
about 1 millipede every 2-4 feet. By the time I returned about 5 hours later
almost all of them had died - possibly from the intense sun !

Does anybody have any ideas whether this is a regular occurrence, whether
these animals normally inhabit the beaches, etc, etc, etc.
