The Yellow Wagtail, found Sept. 4, was present to 7 PM Sept. 5, but was not
found during a brief, one-person search on the morning of Sept. 6. It could
very well still be there - a vast area for a small bird.

This bird was in the Martindale flats farmland of Central Saanich,
north of Victoria, BC., generally on the north side of Martindale Road.
Search the bulb fields toward the east end of Martindale Rd. and the plowed/
manured field 200 metres to the north. It is with hundreds of American
Pipits. Birders are welcome on this private farmland, but please walk the
farm tracks and fallow fields - avoid active crops.
