The premiere spot to be on the north coast this time of year is, in fact,
the South Jetty of the Columbia River and the best time to be there next
week is around high tide. The thorough birder can expect around 15 sp.
of shorebirds, it is and excellent time for seabirds (shearwaters and jaegers
are common). Longspurs apparently arrived last week and this spell of
unsettled weather should inspire a fair passerine movement.
