An immature male STELLER'S EIDER was seen and photographed at the Walla
Walla River delta on September 8th. It was seen again yesterday,
September 9th, late in the day. The bird was reported as being on the mud
flats at the mouth of the Walla Walla River. Also in the area this past
week, an adult light-phase LONG-TAILED JAEGER along the Columbia River in
Richland. The bird was last seen on Friday, September 8, resting alone
on a small island just north of Nelson Island which lies at the end of
Saint Street in Richland, and on Thursday, September 7th, a RED KNOT was
seen at the Walla Walla River Delta.

A fall plumaged adult TENNESSEE WARBLER was seen at the Montlake Fill, on
the University of Washington campus,in Seattle, first reported on Wednesday,
September 6th. It has been seen irregularly as recently as yesterday.
Look for the bird in the trees to the north of post number 2 along the
interpretive trail. There have been on further reports of the BOBLINKS or
the RUFF reported on the last update.

There have been several interesting birds reported from north of the
boarder in British Columbia.

A YELLOW WAGTAIL was seen near Victoria, B.C., on September 4th and 5th.
A LITTLE STINT, also seen on September 4th and 5th at the Iona Sewage
Treatment Plant, near Vancouver, B.C. There are also several SHARP-TAILED
SANDPIPERS in the area as well. Call the Victoria RBA at (604) 592-3381
