Subject: Shrike nasal tufts

Upon reading that there is a color difference in "nasal tufts" between
Loggerhead and Northern Shrikes, I closely examined the Northern Shrike I
caretake for our bird rehab facility. The feathering across the top of the beak
between the eyes is white, and some of it is a bit tufty I suppose. The little
flycatcher-style whiskers that hang down are black. If you can see these from
further away than about two feet, you should be able to see *everything* you
could possibly need for identifying the species.
