Hi Tweets,

It certainly will be hard to beat the Walla Walla Delta trip reports
coming in, so I won't try. But I did take a short trip this weekend to
Harts Pass via Rainy Pass. Here are the brief highlights:

At Rainy Pass on the Rainy Lake trail was a Three-toed Woodpecker. This
seems like a reliable spot for them, as I saw one here 2 years ago in the
same spot, and others have reported them here often as well. An adult
Common Loon was resting on Rainy Lake.

At Harts Pass a small hawk flight was in progress (I enjoyed it, but I
doubt Don will be impressed). Over the course of about 45 minutes, 2
Red-tailed Hawks, 3 Harriers, a Kestrel, and a Prairie Falcon were seen.
The Prairie Falcon put on an awesome show, stooping down on a Raven
several times (why?), harassing it. It flew by, fairly low, several
times, yielding nice views of its 'dirty armpits'. About thirty pipits
were there, and 3 Horned Larks.
