1) Tweets, I would be willing to help on a Okanogan Highlands Boreal Owl trip

towards the end of Sept or early Oct (the juvenile owls get vociferous and
responsive in the fall). But I'd prefer to aim for a "Natural History
Excursion" to these fabulous mountains with the idea of hiking and poking
about the various habitats in these highlands. Lyall's larch, rhododendrons,
granite precipices, boreal fens, the Thunder Mtn. burn, Tiffany Mtn.,
White-winged
Crossbills, snowshoe hares, possibly Spruce Grouse, migrating hawks, the
"tiny things" at one's feet (mosses and lichens), will all be
featured...plus...maybe an owl! It would be a 2-night trip, car camping in
the Tiffany Springs area, with day-time hikes, night owling, if the weather
cooperates. I'd love to share this piece of Washington. If anyones
interested, drop me a message and I'll try to get something going here.

2) Tweets: The Okanogan "owling" trip is scheduled for 29 Sept-1
Oct., meeting 7pm at Cedars Inn in Okanogan. Caravan from there towards Roger
Lake ore Tiffany Springs Campground which will be "Base Camp." Primitive car
camping at both these sites. Andy Stepniewski, Wapato, WA.
