In my yard down here in the Willamette Valley, sparrows are my indicator of
coming winter. I always look forward to Fox and White-crowns visiting the
feeders and am still waiting for my yard White-throated. Chickadees are
common in our yard throughout the year (B-C more than C-B). My experience
would indicate that they are perhaps slightly more easily seen during the
winter as they utilize the feeder more. Good birding, Tim
