I'll bite on the chickadee thing:

The trees in my yard are mostly coniferous, with a few ornamental
deciduous trees. During summer I very rarely see a chestnut-backed.
Each year they show up right around now and dominate the yard until
late spring. It's happenned so regularly that I have come to
associate chesnut-backed chickadees with low clouds and drizzle.
