Perhaps 11,000+ phalaropes are moving through interior Washington in the fall,
but WA has no one site which offers the delicacies that Lake Abert in Oregon
does. Thus, in WA they don't linger, but do so in OR to put on some fat
reserves. Possibly analagous to the Wilson's Phalarope and Eared Grebe
phenomenon at Mono Lake?
