For those of you who visit the Fighting Creek Landfill south of Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho to get your yearly fix of Idaho Mew, Glaucous,
Glaucous-winged and Thayer's Gulls, read on...

The FCL has adopted a new policy, apparently to appease neighbors, to keep
gulls from feeding at the site. They have been using air cannons, and
unfortunately, have been very successful. Dan Svingen, who was been doing a
census there for the past two years, said only a couple birds were present.
It will be interesting to see if they can shoo away the huge winter flocks
as conveniently.
