Well, now that I have your attention, on October 1st, I am bidding
tweeters farewell for two years to visit Tsukuba, Japan (a science town
an hour from Tokyo where all the Tokyo researchers were relocated
15 years ago). I will be doing research at the "Mechanical
Engineering Laboratory" there on vibration control, as well as
lots of birding. I'll be sure and log in to tweeters every so often
to see what I'm missing.

If anybody makes it to Tokyo during the next two years, please get in touch
with me and I will help with local bird spots there. My address will be:
Dr. Neil Fergusson
Vibration Engineering Division
Mechanical Engineering Laboratory
1-2 Namiki
Tsukuba Science City
Ibaraki 305
JAPAN
telephone: 81-0298-58-7148 (office), 81-298-58-7275(fax)

Tweeters has been a most interesting and enlightening activity
for me during my year and a half stay in Seattle. I feel that
because of tweeters I graduated from a birdwatcher to someone with
an interest in bird biology, and learned a great deal about
ecology in general from all the nice postings.

Good luck to everyone during the upcoming winter bird season,
especially those who can enjoy Andy's upcoming owl trip.
