I regret to report that the 'Friends Of Campus Cats' has uncovered the plot
we were hatching down at Montlake Fill. All this time I was telling everybody
that removing exotics, particularly purple loosestrife was for the benefit of
migrating shorebirds. I must confess that was far from the truth. We are
really trying to establish a pair of HORNED OWLS - the nest box is high up in
the cottonwoods on the east side of the Fill. By clearing all the brush away
we had hoped that this would increase the hunting opportunity for the owls, in
particular for medium sized, furry animals and I don't mean rabbits !!!!!

rest of my life checking under the car every morning for explosives !!!!!

On a serious note - at last. Trying to hold a discussion with idealists is a
pointless exercise. It only serves to polarize opinion on both sides. However
it is immensely entertaining - more than limericks ever could. Keep it up !!!!
