Teresa Michelsen sent in a great bird report and asked for "enlightening
comments."

Teresa, I imagine what you saw were female or immature "Oregon" Dark-sided
Juncos, which are much paler than the "Oregon" shown in the NGS guide. The
"Pink-sided" subspecies is over in the Rockies and would be very rare in
Oregon.
