While traveling on Sunday night I listened on the radio to part of a debate
(first of many) on the proposition on gill nets. A caller asked if the
Gill-nets were responsible for the death of many birds. (I have read this in
a number of places). The person speaking against the proposition claimed that
several local Audubon societies had come out against the proposition. He
argued that if there was a danger to birds than they wouldn't be against the
proposition. Does anybody know if this (Audubon Soceities coming out against
the proposition) is true? If this is true does anybody know why they would
come out against this proposition?
