At last year's Olympia-area CBC, my group was assigned to an area just
southwest of Olympia, including some high hills labeled part of the Black
Hills. I was amazed to find a pair of Gray Jays there in a little patch of
coniferous forest. I don't have the exact elevation, but it's certainly
no more than a couple of hundred feet above the average level of Olympia.
