What an intriguing idea! Boggles the mind, though. The Nature Conservancy
really only (identifies, protects, manages) protects the habitat of unique
species and so far as I know, that would leave the Wenas Campground out of
their picture. Ought to get Hazel Wolf involved in this since she's the one
who started the ruckus about the Calliope Hummingbird on the bush that
Boise-Cascade cut down one year and that, in turn, started the relationship
between Boise-Cascade and Audubon regarding the annual Memorial Day Audubon
campouts. Hazel has a truly unique way of negotiating. How much land (what
boundaries) do you envision as part of a purchase if it were to be seriously
considered? Maybe the Northwest Greater Ecosystem Alliance would be willing
to help financially? Would Boise-Cascade even consider it? Wow! What a
concept!
