Hi Tweets, Suzi and Hugh Clark, Kelly Cassidy, and I escaped almost
certain precipitation yesterday by sneaking over to Wenas. We came back
with 47 species, including our target White-headed Woodpecker. Here's
what we saw (not all seen at Wenas, some along the way in sagebrush, the
Yakima River, etc.):


Great Blue Heron
Swan sp.: near Ellensburg, but couldn't ID at 72 mph! 8 of these.
Canada Goose
Mallard
Common Merganser
Turkey Vulture (2)
Red-tailed Hawk
American Kestrel
Chukar
Killdeer
Rock Dove
Mourning Dove
Red-naped Sapsucker
Downy Woodpecker
White-headed Woodpecker (3 in the campground - at least 2 males, third ?)
