Big Meadows Lake is known for: nesting Bufflehead, Common and Barrow's
Goldeneye N. Waterthrush, Am. Redstart - all except the Barrow's are
uncommon or local breeders in the state. Also great for Common Loon,
Red-necked Grebe, Willow Flycatcher and...moose! A walk around the lake on
the Forest Service nature trail should yield 55 or more species at that time
in June.
