A perfectly valid question. In all my ten years of flogging away at little
round white balls, I can say that I have never heard of any bird eating a golf
ball. Water hazards are usually full of ducks in the warm season and *all*
these hazards are chock full of balls before being occasionally cleaned out.
Funnily enough, the most frequently encountered chaser of golf balls happens
to be the Red Fox. There was one local golf course here in P.G. which for
years had a fox as its emblem in honour of a pair which use to steal anyone's
ball which got to close to its den. And ravens once and a while come in and
pick up a ball just for something to do. However, I have no evidence that
ravens eat golf balls.
