Highlights of a day of birding between Kamloops and Merritt, BC today included:

Sandhill Cranes - 500+
White Pelicans - 5
16 species of ducks (thousands of individuals)
Golden Eagles - 4
Williamson's Sapsuckers -2 (originally found by Wayne Weber just west of
Merritt)
Red-naped Sapsuckers - 2 or 3 million (well, lots anyway)

75 species for the day but not really trying to achieve a big list. We
spent a lot of time sorting out sapsucker calls, drums and so forth. Lots
of fun on a great spring day.
