First, I'd like to thank all of the birders who posted information on
tweeters concerning birding along the Columbia.
On Sunday, April 14, I birded from Frenchman's Coulee south to the Midway
substation area. At Frenchman's Coulee, there were numerous Violet-green
Swallows and White-throated Swifts. Also heard one Canyon Wren near the
beginning of the coulee. North of the Midway substation, I encountered at
least 4 Canyon Wrens, 2 Prairie Falcons (both of which harassed any hawk
or raven that came near their section of cliff, 2.6 mi from station), 30+
White-throated Swifts, 2 Red-tailed Hawks carrying nesting material (very
close to the Praires' Home), 1 Swainson's Hawk, 2 Rock Wrens, 3 Sage
Thrashers, 1 Yellow-rumped (Audubon's) Warbler, 3 Caspian Terns flying
downstream, at least 6 pairs of Chukars, 1 Brewer's Sparrow, 1 pair of
Kestrels, and numerous Violet-green Swallows and Golden-crowned Kinglets.
Excellent Birding, great weather, and loads of wildflowers and
butterflies.

Does anyone out there know of a reliable place for Feruginous Hawk in WA
state?
Thanks in advance for any info.
