I live in an apartment in Mountlake Terrace, but the building I'm in
borders on a pond area. I have always had a few mallards who winter
there over and put corn out for them along with the other feeders.
When I looked out last Friday morning, the ducks I saw eating the corn
15 feet from my bedroom window were definitely NOT MALLARDS, but a
pair of wood ducks. What a nice way to start the day! I don't know
if they will stay or not, but it's great to see them now. I've seen
them once more since then, on Sunday.
