Scott Baker, a recent UPS graduate, needs two volunteers for the coming
field season. You would be studying goshawks, spotted owls, and/or
loggerhead shrikes in northern California's Siskiyou Mountains this summer,
from early or mid May to the end of August. All you'd need is a pair of
binoculars and good legs for a lot of walking.

There's no salary, but you would get free lodging, a vehicle to use for the
field work, and $18 per diem. Food costs a whole lot less than that, and
there's no place to spend your money, so you could end up saving around
$100 per week, thus $1000+ for the summer. Plus you could learn a lot and
have a heck of a good time. Scott's a great guy, and it should be easy to
work with him.
