Hi Tweets,

Got this message from the Seabird-L listserver, and thought that some of =
our museum/academic types on the list might be able to help the =
gentleman. I've never seen the beast :-(

Can anyone help with Black-faced Cormorant tissue?

I hope you don't mind my contacting you, I got your email address from =
one
of your postings to the seabird list. I'm in the throws of trying to
finish up my PhD and it includes some phylogenetic work on the
pelecaniformes. A couple of years ago now, when I was initially putting =
my
samples together I was unable to get samples of the black-faced =
cormorant
from any of the places that I tried - I wondered if you had any =
suggestions
about any place or persons who may have some blood or tissue samples =
from
this species? I have tried a few museums and people like Les Chrisditis =
at
M of Victoria kindly supplied me with several other samples and feather
samples . . . but I've been unsuccessful with feathers (due in part to a
lack of time but mainly a lack of expertise) . . . but no samples of the
b-f cormorant appeared to exist. =20

Any suggestions you have about who may have some blood or tissue tucked
away in a freezer or in ethanol would be greatly appreciated. Thanks =
for
you time. =20

Cheers
