My hummingbird feeder finally attracted a rufous-sided hummingbird 2
weeks ago. At first I thought I had 1 male and 1 female, but now I can
spot hummingbirds fighting in the yard while buzzing loudly at each
other. Looking at the field guide, the female Rufous, Anna, and
Calliope look very similar. I hope with binoculars, field guides, and
close-up photos I will become more experienced at identifying these
birds.

Do the veteran birders remember when just about every bird that visits
your yard is a lifer?
