Well, there I was staring out the window when I Steller's
Jay go stright down along the trunk of a vine maple off
my deck and disappear from view..about 2 heart beats later
it re-emerged with a robin right on it's butt..they
went straight up the trunk until the jay broke off and
landed on a branch..the robin landed on the other side of
the trunk. I got my bins and checked him out..no tail
feathers...I've seen robins with tailfeathers missing
but not one with no tail at all...is this something
usual?..some cat got a mouthful of feathers...he
dropped them all in an early molt..he never had any to begin
with.. hmmm-mmmmm...
