We spent Saturday and Sunday (4/20 and 4/21) birding Ocean Shores/ Bowerman
Basin. Moderate numbers of shorebirds were seen at the Ocean Shores Golf
Course, Bill's Spit, and at Bowerman. The golf course was productive only
early Saturday morning before golfers arrived.

Shorebird highlights are as follows:

Red Knot: 15 birds at Bowerman (Sunday only)
Whimbrel: Golf Course (20) and also at Bill's spit
Western Sandpiper: All three locations, 600+ at Bowerman
Semi-palmated Plover: Bill's spit (15) and Bowerman (40)
Marbled Godwit: Golf Course (40) and also at Bill's spit
Dunlin: All three locations, 200+ at Bowerman
Least Sandpiper: Golf Course (1) and Bowerman (3)
Black-bellied Plover: Golf Course (120) and Bowerman
Short-billed Dowitcher: All three locations

Other shorebirds at other locations:

Sanderling (1 bird at the game range)
Black Turnstone (3 birds at Damon Point)
Additional Least Sandpiper (Fields north of Rt 105 at Raymond Airport)
