This is the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Bird Alert for April 22,

On April 13, Bill and Nancy LaFramboise reported a LINCOLN'S SPARROW at
Weidle Road, off Grosscup in West Richland.

On the afternoon of April 14, Bob Dredding (?) noted a GREAT EGRET at the
Boise Cascade Plant.

As part of a shrub-steppe bird survey on April 14, Bill and Nancy
LaFramboise saw 2 SAGE THRASHERS, 2 BREWERS SPARROWS, a singing VESPER
SPARROW, and 7 SAVANNAH SPARROWS north of Hanks Road on the west side of
Rattlesnake Mountain.

Dennis Rockwell reported the return of the first two FORSTER'S TERNS at Two
Rivers Park on April 15.

AMERICAN AVOCETS continue to be seen, with reports of two at the remains of
the ShaNaPum Golf course in Richland on April 13 and 22nd and two others in
West Pasco off Dent Road seen by Lori Cunningham on April 15.

Swallow sightings are now fairly regular with Violet-green, Tree, Cliff,
Barn, and Northern Rough-winged SWALLOWS being seen at locations such as the
McNary National Wildlife Refuge, the I-182 bridge and various ponds.

On April 17, Tracy Walsh observed a TURKEY VULTURE at the west end of
Columbia Park. Sightings of Turkey Vultures seem to be increasing in our area.

The HARRIS'S SPARROW that has spent the winter in the LaFramboises yard is
almost done molting into breeding plumage.
