Position Announcement


HAWK MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY (Kempton, Pennsylvania) SEEKS A HIGHLY QUALIFIED
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL


Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, the world's first and foremost refuge for birds of
prey, has an immediate full-time opening for an exceptional educator
skilled in using Socratic and experiential, hands-on methods in outdoor
settings. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher/naturalist to help
expand and improve the learning program at an internationally known center
for education, research, and conservation.

Minimum Requirements: Masters degree in education or related field; three
years' teaching experience, preferably in informal education; openness to
using and designing creative teaching techniques; ability to take both
initiative and direction; willingness to collaborate in a team approach to
teaching, learning, and working; and a positive, people-oriented attitude.

Helpful Attributes: Familiarity with Appalachian natural history,
especially birds; computer expertise (Mac and DOS); strong writing skills;
and experience in maintaining captive raptors.

Salary: Low- to mid-20's, excellent benefits package.
