I drove 8.5 km of Clatsop Beach this morning in counting shorebirds and
looking for dead stuff. I found 53 LEACH'S STORM-PETRELS among the
corpses on the beach. All were reasonably fresh and presumably the
result of Tuesdays storm.

Total dead:
Western Grebe - 1
Brandt's Cormorant - 2
Leach's Storm-petrel - 53
Sooty Shearwater - 1
White-winged Scoter - 1
Red Phalarope - 1
West x GW Gull - 2
Glaucous-winged Gull - 1
Common Murre - 2
Pigeon Guillemot - 2
Cassin's Auklet - 2
