USDA Animal Damage Control relocated nearly 7500 of the Seattle area's
Canada Geese between 1990 and 1995. Many of these went to Idaho or the Smoke
River basin (I don't know what state). Some came back (5% in 1994 were
returning geese).
USDA ADC also began addling eggs in 1993, and through 1995 had addled
about 1700. More were addled this year. Addling includes spraying eggs with
mineral oil.
July surveys of Canada Geese in recent years have shown stable numbers.
Previously, the Canada Goose population around Seattle was growing rapidly
(exponentially?).
