FYI -
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will be considering revised
falconry rules at the next Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting
on August 9-10, 1996 in Aberdeen. The falconry rules are part of the
preliminary agenda on Saturday.
Some of the proposed changes appear to be streamlining the regs while others
appear to be new--Item 7.E. (WAC 232-12-114) "This amendment would also
identify where prairie falcons and gyrfalcons may legally be taken . . ."
Item 7.G. (WAC 232-12-124) "This amendment would also allow the capture of
kestrels and great horned owls after they attain adult plumage."
For more information about the meeting and public input, please call Debbie
Nelson, Commission Operations Manager at 360-902-2267. Tom Juelson is the
WDFW staff contact for the Amendments to Falconry Rules.
