I like to think Tweets are Aware enough to realize the serious connection
between this trend and environmental trends. More and more, the money =
power in our society is gravitating to the few, and especially to
corporations who are virtually out of control by concerned citizens. Them
that has got it can commit almost any environmental or social atrocity,
and get little more than a legal slap on the wrist after the damage is
done. I was just reading in The Olympian this morning about efforts to
repair a local salmon stream and restore the salmon run after it had been
largely ruined by a big out-of-state corporation building a new shopping
center. They were fined a few thousand bucks for their efforts, and then
they generously donated a few thousand more to the stream effort--after
making some ungodly profit on the deal. And that's only a minor, local
situation. I don't know where it's going to end, and how We, the People,
are ever going to regain control of our world before the bastards ruin it.

Anyway, the concentration of money at the top of our society should not
just be of casual interest to people who love the natural world.
