In mid July an osprey appeared several mornings in a row over the Mt.
Baker boathouse area (very early i.e. 5:30 am), then I spotted one (and
the same?) later that week in the evening over Lake Ridge area. Hailing
most recently from Connecticut, where osprey were fairly common as they
fished over the sounds and various inlets, it seems curious that I have
seen so few over all of the water in the Seattle area (but, saw a whole
bunch out at Lake Wenatchee and Fish Lake in June!).
