Kelly, why the emphasis on removing or avoiding carp? Are they competitors for
food with duckling broods? Do they eat ducklings? The source I have read
(Inland Fishes of Washington, R. Wydoski and R. Whitney, University of
Washington Press, Seattle/London, 1979) mentions algae, plant fragments,
seeds, zooplankton, midges, caddisfly, clams, animal fragments and
miscellaneous organic and inorganic matter as carp food. With zooplankton
being more important to small carp than to large carp.
Or does their spawning activity have anything to do with this?

Can you enlighten me or refer me to sources on this?
