Martin Muller might want to contact Malheur National Wildlife
Refuge, Burns Oregon, for information on their decades-long experience
with carp and waterfowl. Essentially, carp feeding increases the
turbidity of the water in lakes and marshes, and reduces light penetration
and aquatic plant production. Also carp and waterfowl compete directly
for aquatic plants.
