Greetings-

so, last Friday evening I and two birder friends were stoking up
on Chinese food before we went out *owling*, when I noticed
some crows flying from what appeared to be down town Olypmia
over the parking lot of Top Foods on the West Side headed for
some place in the Black Hills.. there were about 40 birds schooled
up and I watched them as they passed over..then I noticed a few
stragglers, and another bunch..even larger coming behind it.
To make a long story short this went on with flock after
flock of crows for about 15 minutes or so..maybe longer. They
just kept coming..we estimated somewhere over a thousand and
maybe more..in groups of 40 to 60 with stragglers between
them..none of us had ever seen that many crows flying over
at any one time. They were all headed in the same direction..
somewhere near 30 (estimated) separate groups with stragglers
in between... curious...
