Greetings--

On my return from a wedding on Lopez Island, I crossed over
to the peninsula and stopped by the Geoduck Tavern in
Brinnon...as we were sitting out on the deck facing Hood
Canal, I saw a couple of TV's..then there were more..swirling
around...they didn't seem to be interested in pouncing on
anything..(unless there were nearly dead sunbathers we
couldn't see.. :) I counted 8 in a continuing swirl
about 100' in the air at the water's edge and one straggler to
the north about a 1/4 mile from the others. Looked like they were
enjoying their low level soar...made me wonder whether they were
schooling up to move south..no reference in any of my books
to when they move, but it seems like it might be about time.
I think I was looking at early pre-migratory behavior, but
I'm not certain about that...anybody know about TV schedules?
(and don't tell me there's a booklet in the Sunday paper :)

Tom
