While walking an old logging road out of North Bend today, a couple of
Steller's Jays were creating quite a ruckus back in the woods. I worked my
way back and had a stunning view of a Barred Owl sitting in full sunlight
on a snag, allowing total viewing for several minutes. It finally seemed to
have enough of the jays, so it flew closer to me, this time hunkering next
to the tree trunk about twenty feet from me.

A lifer for me.
