Subject: Potholes

I spent the night on the n. shore of the reservoir near Moses Lake a few
nights ago. Woke up to three Great horned owls hooting. Great egrets
were dispersing from their roost in various directions to south.
Also fewer DCCO. Most impressive was the number of White Pelicans. One flock
of 87 flying north, another of 27, and other stragglers. I had the impression
there wasnt much evidence of breeding, but with these numbers I wonder.
Very few shorebirds- just some yellowlegs.
