Hi tweeterland,
I have caught what i would call an african finch, obviously an escaped
cage bird, chicadee-sized, grey wings, back and head; white breast; throat
black and white small horizontal stipes; beak flaming orange, lores
with a white and rust patch with thin black line between; tail black and
white bars... i think woodland park zoo has them but i'm not sure. no leg
band btw.

So, who wants it? It's weak but can still fly (clipped wings i presume
since i could catch it). I've given it water (it drank) and whole wheat
nut bread. It's in a box with a towel on top and after the initial
excitment here, we are leaving it alone. Any other suggestions on short
term care?

Would the zoo like it? I'm on the UW campus, but on bicycle so i cant
deliver it. Any takers? Going once.......
