True, Dennis. I guess I feel that the salamanders and frogs and toads, etc.
are safer in the pond (which, of course, isn't true). At least the
salamander will know there IS a pond (without fish except one trout
fingerling at this point introduced by my neighbor, Jason, who is 6 years
old) where it can lay its eggs. Our whole neighborhood is being destroyed
(oh, sorry, I guess that's actually called "developed") and the animals are
being uprooted or whatever word you/'d like to use...
