I participated last year and it was quite fun. They raised, I believe,
$20,000 for the world bird fund last year and I think they're offering to
pay more per sighting this year. I definitely plan to do it again. We
received the results several months after the reporting was finished and it
was neat to read about all the different birds seen throughout the world.

Also, I reported for people in my office as well as my husband's office so
we had quite a few different sightings. They are offering a donation for
each species reported this year. So I think it's especially important to
report if we're the only ones on the west coast doing this - it means that
many more different species.

Hopefully some of our Lane County Audubon and SWOC members (hint hint) will
participate this year as well.

Just my thoughts.
