Hello Tweeters,

A group of birders from Bucks County Audubon Society, New Hope, PA
will be arriving in your fair state on Saturaday, Sept. 7 for 10 days.
Although our fearless leader has spent many hours on the phone,
perhaps with some of you (her name is Sherri Labar) she does not have
Internet access. And although she has received a lot of (what she
hopes) is good information, as she said to me, "I have lots of info
that a bird is easy to find, but I'd rather have it nailed down!" :>)
So, I am asking for any last minute good tips and alerts about any
rare birds. Remember, an Eastern Kingbird is not a rare bird for us
PA birders, so perhaps I should say I'm asking for hot tips about any
of your more uncommon Pacific Northwest birds. We will be starting at
Westport for a pelagic trip, to Kalaloch and Olympic National Park's
Hoh Rain Forest, Hurricane Ridge and Dungeness NWR, Vancouver Island,
North Cascade NP, Hart's Pass, towards Ellenburg and the Wenatchee
Valley, Mt. Ranier, and ending at Auburn.

Target birds, or birds we could use more info about (known nesting
areas, places they are regularly seen): any of the grouse family,
Blue, Spruce, Sage, Sharp-tailed Grouse, Chukar; Wandering Tattler;
Flammulated, Spotted, Great Gray or Boreal Owls; Poorwill, Black
Swift; the migrating Hummers - especially Calliope; White-headed
Woodpecker; Eurasian Skylark and Creasted Myna; warblers -
Twonsend's, Hermit, MacGillivray's; Western Tanager; Black-headed
Grosbeak; Lazuli Bunting; Sage and Golden-crowned Sparrow, and the
Gray-crowned Rosey Finch that was "all over" Rocky Mtn. NP last summer
but none of us found...twice :>)

I'll be checking my e-mail right up through late Friday night, Sept 6
before we leave; then I don't know if any laptops will be coming with
our group. If any of you are inclined to give us a phone number, do
so only if you're willing to receive a call from us when we're in your
neck of the woods!

Thanks for all your help!
