11:02 p.m. 12-01-96: Sam Terry at 206/329-9038. Today, December first,
there were five or six SNOWY OWLS at Big Ditch.

9:43 a.m. 12-02-96: Scott Atkinson. Yesterday, December first, between 8
and 9 a.m. I had a light-phase NORTHERN FULMAR [and] at least one,
possibly a second, FORK-TAILED STORM PETREL, seen flying north of Rosario
Strait off Washington Park near Anacortes during a full gale. There are
very few records for either species in Skagit County. Also, there was an
EARED GREBE near the north end of the park near the boat launch.

10:36 a.m. 12-03-96: Hugh Jennings at 206/746-6351. This morning at 9:30
at Larson Lake (Lake Hills greenbelt in east Bellevue), I saw an immature
NORTHERN SHRIKE sitting on top of a dead tree. First one I've seen at the
lake in three years. Also, like to report domesticated BLACK EAST INDIES
DUCK. Four were released in July, three remained in August. Last
Saturday, still three, but Monday there was only one, so something's been
taking them, maybe coyotes or people.
