Seattle Audubon Society bird sightings update through 4 December 1996.

This report was made at 9:00 p.m. December 4. =20

Sightings of SNOWY OWLS have decreased in residential areas but they are =
still being found=20
regularly in a few locations. Among these are the Big Ditch Access, the =
west 90 near Samish=20
Island and Damon Point at Ocean Shores.

Two OLDSQUAW and 4 BLACK TURNSTONES were seen near Alki Point in West Sea=
ttle on the 4th. =20
Also on the 4th an adult LITTLE GULL was seen at American Lake, south of =
Tacoma. Take the=20
Tillicum exit and go to Harry Todd Park.

A POMARINE JAEGER was seen from the Edmonds-Kingston ferry on the 3rd. A=
lso on that day the=20
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was again found near the restrooms at the Skagit Gam=
e Range=20
Headquarters and 3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were found at Damon Point.

One NORTHERN FULMAR and one FORK-TAILED STORM-PETREL were observed off Wa=
shington Park near=20
Anacortes on the 1st.

10 SNOW BUNTINGS have been found regularly at the base of Graveyard Spit =
near Sequim; they=20
were last reported on the 30th.

The AMERICAN TREE SPARROW and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were last reported=
from the Skagit on=20
the 29th.

The BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER at the Arboretum was last reported on the 28t=
h.
