Mike Denny called me last night reporting a LITTLE BLUE HERON in Walla
Walla, Washington. The bird has been seen since Sunday, December 8 but not
confirmed until yesterday. Mike says it's a first-year white phase bird.

Directions:

Head west from Walla Walla on US 12. Go 1.25 miles west of the Walla
Walla Auction Yard which is at the intersection of US 12 and Ireland Road.
On the south side of US 12 is a trailer placed at an odd angle to US 12.
Just west of the trailer is a big red barn. The bird has been in the
field between the big red barn and US 12, associating with Great Egret and
Great Blue Heron.

The bird was first seen by Larry Goodhew and later by Mike. I don't know
how to contact Larry and Mike and MerryLynn are, as you read this, on
their way to Costa Rica...

If you see the bird, please let the Eastern Washington hotline know. The
number is 208-882-6195.

Good birding!
