How frustrating to have all this gorgeous bird count weather a week early.
Any bets it won't last to next weekend?

An OLDSQUAW has been hanging out with BUFFLEHEAD and GREATER SCAUP at the
end of 6th street in Astoria all week.

An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was among the sparrows at the Mitagation Bank
near the Astoria Airport.

No sign of the Snowy owl this morning at SJCR. A ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK,
and a PEREGRIN were at Trestle Bay. Huge amounts of drift wood have piled
up on Clatsop Beach from SJCR to at least Del Rey Beach making driving
the beach a special challenge.

On the Washington side yesterday, a PYGMY OWL was calling Ft Columbia.
There are herds of VARIED THRUSHES throughout the park. Chinook Valley had
good numbers of RED-TAILED HAWKS... the best I've seen since they planted
all those damnedable cottonwoods.
